The mission of the Pike County Prosecutor's Office is to pursue justice, to safeguard the community by demanding accountability for those who commit crimes, to effectively advocate on behalf of the victims of crime, promote the safety and security of the County's citizens, and thereby enhance the quality of life in our County.

A prosecuting attorney strives for justice above all else; we recognize and uphold the constitutional rights of all people in the courts of the State of Missouri including those accused of crimes. 

The prosecuting attorney also advises county officials in legal matters and represents the County and its officials in county when the need arises.

Alex Ellison was elected Prosecuting Attorney in 2018. Prior to that he served as Assistant Prosecuting Attorney after a brief time in a private practice. 

The office employs 1 assistant prosecutor, an investigator, a victim advocate, and support staff.
